Review Canon EOS 50D

Among digital SLRs, the 15.1-megapixel 50D has one of the highest megapixel counts currently offered (the 40D has 10.1 megapixels). The sensor size remains the same, which means you must effectively multiply the focal length of the bundled lens by 1.6 to calculate your 35mm-equivalent focal length. The extra reach is helpful in some situations, but as a result you may need a wider-angle lens for landscapes or for shooting in tight environments.

The EOS 50D received an image-quality score of Superior in the PC World Test Center's digital camera tests. Our test images showed good color saturation and accuracy, under both flash and natural light.

In spite of its higher megapixel count, in our ISO tests the 50D performed almost exactly the same as the 40D did. For both cameras, all our jurors deemed the ISO 3200 results unacceptable and found ISO 1600 adequate. The 50D can handle ISO 100 to 12800, another big change from the 40D (which tops out at ISO 3200). That means you can shoot with it in low-light situations, but you should expect the images to gain color noise.

The LG Pop is a compact full touchscreen handset. This phone has a 3.15 megapixel camera with adjustable light effects and autofocus. It has a 3 inch high resolution WQVGA touchscreen with an onscreen QWERTY keyboard. This phone has Music player and stereo FM radio with RDS. It has Blutooth, enabling the user to enjoy the music using wireless connectivity. The photocall phonebook can hold up to 1000 entries, and you can keep records of up to 20 dialled, received or 20 missed calls. It is a Tri band phone weighing just 87 grams.

Smallest 3 inch touchscreen out there. Operating system is simple and not to much customization is allowed- no apps just a small set of widgets. OK Facebook, Twitter and MySpace funtionality. My biggest problem with the set is no 3.5 mm jack- you have to use micro USB headsets instead. You can buy an adapter. 3 homescreens- first is widget screen second is "livesquare" screen, and the 3rd is contacts. The "Livesquare" screen is strange- its a visual representation of you communication log (voice, email, messnger) that is supposed to make tracking ongoing conversations and communications easier. Seemed easier for me to ignore, but really haven't spent much time trying to understand its functionality. 

 
Music interface is usable, but not great, and videos are played through the file manager. Not very sophisticated. That said, had no problem playing MP4s which look very good on the screen. Controls are easy and intuative. Excellent build quality- solid phone feel. 

 
Conclusion- I guess you'd call it an ultra-compact touch screen feature phone. Good if portability is your primary concern. I load it with an 8gb SD with music and movies when I don't want to carry a smartphone. Also cheap enough that loss or damage of the Pop won't be too upsetting.
